Emilio Lopez, MD
Dr. Emilio Lopez is Board-Certified and Fellowship trained in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and the founder of Premier Vascular and Interventional. Dr. Lopez has extensive experience in the use of image guided minimally invasive techniques in the outpatient setting for a variety conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, varicose veins, and uterine fibroids.

Dr. Lopez earned his Medical Degree from the University of Miami in 2010, where he graduated with honors. He completed his Radiology residency at Emory University with a fourth year focused on endovascular procedures. He began his fellowship training as a Clinical and Research Fellow in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and finished his endovascular training at Yale University Hospital. He then joined Jackson Radiology Associates in West Tennessee where he served on the sub-committee for peripheral vascular disease prior to his return home to South Florida. Dr. Lopez served as the Medical Director and Chief of Interventional Radiology at Wellington Regional Medical Center until 2023, where he expanded the peripheral arterial disease/limb salvage program and established a prostate artery embolization service for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
While training at Yale University he worked closely with early pioneers in prostate artery embolization (PAE) which has allowed him to expand his PAE practice, allowing Premier Vascular to become one of the leaders in the field in South Florida.
He has a special interest in caring for patients with critical limb ischemia and the prevention of unnecessary amputations. Dr. Lopez has extensive experience in the treatment of complex peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and limb salvage. Over the years Dr. Lopez has continued to expand his skills and techniques for treating even the most advanced cases of critical limb ischemia allowing for a limb salvage rate far above the national average.
Additional interests and skills include hemodialysis access maintenance, chronic venous disease including varicose veins, and Interventional Oncology intervention

Dr. Lopez has presented and published multiple abstracts/manuscripts in the field of Interventional Radiology at national conferences and journals including the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR), Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA), Association of University Radiologist (AUR), and World Conference of Interventional Oncology (WCIO).
Dr. Lopez is a member of the American Board of Radiology (ABR), American College of Radiology (ACR), Florida Medical Association, and American Medical Association (AMA).
